• My Approach

Meditation is at the heart of my approach. Through simple guidance, we’ll develop tools to help you return to the present moment and start from exactly where you are. Instead of seeking an escape from life’s challenges, we’ll practice meeting them with a gentle, honest, and non-judgmental awareness.

Through personalised mentoring, I’ll work alongside you to develop an integrated plan for gently cultivating a consistent meditation routine- often combining the practices of mindfulness, movement, and creativity.

As a student of Buddhism, I may share practical frameworks from this ancient tradition that encourage working with the difficulties of meditation and life rather than wishing such challenges didn’t exist.

When we view difficult situations as opportunities for practice, we begin to open to the mind we’re experiencing and the life we’re living. Recognizing that nothing needs to be ignored, suppressed, or indulged allows us to create space to engage with our whole life, just as it is.

It is my hope that by introducing a more integrated and practical approach towards wellbeing, clients feel more compassion towards themselves, those they care for, and their world. The benefit being that when challenges arise, they can experience them in more workable ways.

We can refill our well-being and care more fully for the people who need us the most without losing ourselves in the process.

  • My Experience & Teachers

In addition to being a 500 hour yoga teacher, I received my certification to teach mindfulness meditation from Dharma Moon and Tibet House in 2016. Dharma Moon is a mindfulness-based global platform and global community founded by senior Buddhist teacher, David Nichtern.

Most recently, I completed the two year Yearlong Buddhist Studies Course with Dharma Moon and Ethan Nichtern. I am grateful to have collaborated with the Dharma Moon staff as both an assistant teacher and 1:1 mentor for the past several years.

I have introduced meditation programs in spaces such as prison, high schools, wellness centers, and yoga studios. I am pleased to now offer 1:1 mentoring and small group work through my personal website.

As a partner, mother, and daughter, I’m especially committed to supporting those who feel too exhausted, busy, or overwhelmed to prioritize their own well-being.

At home on the South Coast of Massachusetts, I teach weekly in-person chair yoga classes for beginners and older adults. Additionally, I host a bi-monthly community meditation group via the Zoom online platform.

Beyond work, I enjoy trail walks with our 2 dogs, knitting (and un-knitting!) and pursuing the dream of publishing my first children’s book, Bring Your Butterflies.

  • More Influences

A few years ago I had the serendipitous good fortune to find myself at Gampo Abbey, a Buddhist monastery in Nova Scotia. It happened to be the monks’ principle teacher, Pema Chodron’s, birthday. Though she was not in residence at the time, just being there made the books I’ve read by her that much more impactful.

Below are other teachers who have impacted my life in meaningful ways. Some in person, others on-line, and many through their books and recordings. All of them present, kind-hearted, and generous.

*In the spirit of keeping it brief, I have listed one suggested reading by each but certainly any of their books would be of benefit.
